From Contribution: Sinitic between Altaic and Mainland Southeast Asia
This refers to the presence of syllable-final plosives ([-p], [-t], [-k]) or the glottal stop [-ʔ]. Northern Sinitic variaties have largely lost these codas (except for the glottal stop in Jin), whereas Southern varieties retain them, a trait shared with both Altaic and MSEA typologies.
